Tortured For Christ by Richard Wurmbrand

Warning: This book is not for the faint of heart. It is not for those who like to "look the other way." It will challenge you, to say the least. It will challenge the Western believer to step up and count the cost of following Jesus. Tortured for Christ will also inspire the Western believer to see the global Bride of Christ and her needs. Wurmbran calls us to meet those needs. He reminds us that when a part of the body is hurt, the tongue cries out. So it is that when part of the Body of Christ hurts, we are all effected. If you want to stay in your comfort zone, shut your eyes, and keep your apathy towards the persecuted Church, do not read this book. However, if you are looking for more in life than a vending-machine-in-the-sky-god, read on. If you want to find hope, read on. If you want to find a life that has purpose, meaning, and counts for something, read on. You will be dumbfounded, amazed, and humbled at the persecuted Church's love for not only Christ, but also her persecutors. This love will boggle the mind of nonbelievers. It is a love that surpasses all understanding. It is the love of Christ. (5 stars!)
